Vlasta Kopylova shows up at Milan Fashion Week

Vlasta Kopylova – research and creativity conquer the Italian capital of fashion

Over 15 years of experience in the fur sector quickly transform into fashion designs that have enchanted the illustrious (and demanding) audience of the Milan fashion week.

The Fall-Winter 2020/2021 collection of the Russian designer Vlasta Kopylova managed able to capture the glances of the media as well as of fashion lovers, getting positive reviews and impressing with its countless style innovations.

A powerful mix of precious materials and cutting-edge technologies: because when fashion transcends the boundaries of pure design, it becomes magic. It turns into something unforgettable and unique, almost a true piece of art.

On Friday, 21st February 2020, around 30 models walked down the catwalk wearing the creations of Vlasta Kopylova, who also on this occasion used fabrics combined with the finest furs. But Vlasta went even further, developing the collection around the theme of freedom and drawing inspiration from George Braque – French painter and one of the main exponents of Cubism. Vlasta has come to develop the proposals of her Vlasta Kopylova Design brand by drawing inspiration from an artistic current that is still so contemporary and full of innovative ideas, getting back to her public with garments full of stories to tell.

The Vlasta Kopylova Design company was born in 2014 in Kastoria, Greece, with the creation of the first fur collection.

Since then, Vlasta has dedicated her career to the study and selection of the finest materials (python, crocodile, ostrich …), pushing her creative research towards ever new artistic boundaries.

A Pret-a-Porter line was added later and VLASTA KOPYLOVA KIDS – a project dedicated to our beloved little princesses – is also coming shortly.

Vlasta’s perfectionism is evident in everything she does: from the search for new creative ideas to the selection of the best materials, up to rigorous quality controls on the final product.

Samantha De Reviziis’ opinion on Vlasta  Kopylova’s collection.

I found Vasta Kopylova’s extraordinary, really fresh and young, decisively contemporary. The pieces I liked most were those with intarsia in shearling.
The collection dedicated to space made in seal fur and shearling with Kopenhagen Fur, is space-like, I dream of seeing it soon in the shop windows of the Quadrilatero Della Moda. The pieces in shearling inspired by Tuscany, both the children’s and the women’s collection, are really fun.

Everything is handmade. Often people think that artisans, tailors, goldsmiths and craftsmanship exist only in Italy but it’s not so. Vlasta has most of her pieces made by expert and talented artisans in Turkey and Greece.

The latest collection presented at TheOneMilano is inspired by birds. Lots of birds made with intarsia in shearling, leather and mink.

The inspiration is not just connected to birds but also to their life, to flying, to freedom. It’s not by chance that one of her furs is called Volare (Flying).
Differently from all other brands, her furs don’t have a number or barcode but rather a real name, and this reflects the love she puts into creating every single piece.

Most of the furs are reversible. I love reversible furs and I hate linings so when I realized they were reversible I went crazy and I tried all of the collection on display. All of it, even the children’s pieces but unfortunately they didn’t fit. lol

Attention to detail: Vlasta Copylova really pays attention to detail, the buttons are not classic fur buttons taken from the sector button suppliers all furriers use but rather buttons taken from who knows where and after goodness knows how much research, the laces to close the hoods are fluorescent orange, the zips, some linings, the furs chosen to finish small pieces, labels, all come from lengthy research.

Vlasta Kopylova is not just a fur brand but also proposes total looks in leather. The skins are ultra-light, in fact, at the fair, I ordered some trousers and a leather shirt and a violet coat that I will wear at the haute couture shows in Paris.

I met Vlasta Kopylova, who as well as being really nice and talented is also beautiful.
